A constituent unit of L.N.Mithila University is located at Sarisab-Pahi, the heart land of mithilanchal region. Sarisab-Pahi falls within the site assigned to the ancient city of Amaravati in Mithila. This village has been the seat of learning from time immemorial and has produced outstanding scholars in different ages.

The eminent scholars of the vicinity with requisite qualifications were chosen by the governing body as faculty members of different subjects and the institution began to flourish by the generous donations both in the form of money and land by the local people. The honesty of purpose and the dedication to the cause displayed by the founder teachers and the non-teaching staff made it an outstanding institution.

This college was founded in 1959 (2nd July) on the land donated by the Maharaja of Darbhanga. Both the school and the college were running in two identical buildings in the same campus. Now the college has shifted to a new campus which is lush green with a huge fortified playground. The college is having a separate Arts and Science block in addition to Administrative Building. It is a WI FI campus with CCTV cameras and other modern amenities.
